Relationship Director

Frieze Publishing Ltd. is seeking a skilled Relationship Director to join our team in EMEA. As a key member of our VIP and Institutional Relations team, you will play a crucial role in cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with top institutions, including museums and galleries, to drive institutional engagement across all Frieze fairs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a cultivation strategy for institutions in the region, working closely with the Head of VIP and Fair Director.
- Identify opportunities for new in-person and digital initiatives that respond to institutions' needs, ensuring alignment with Frieze's overall goals.
- Travel extensively to build relationships with key institutions in the region, attending key art events and meetings as agreed with the Head of VIP.
- Conduct thorough research and create detailed reports after each trip or meeting, contributing to the development of in-depth intel in our database.
- Coordinate opportunities with local and regional institutions, fostering partnerships that benefit both parties.
- Build knowledge of Frieze galleries and their programs, attending gallery openings in the region and engaging with local art communities.
- Deliver introductions of institutions to exhibiting galleries at the fair and year-round, facilitating meaningful connections and collaborations.
- Proven experience working in a museum, gallery, or similar cultural institution, with a focus on development, outreach, or institutional relations.
- Experience managing projects within the arts and cultural space, with a track record of building and maintaining relationships with museum and gallery professionals.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with data, analytics, and CRM databases, with a strong understanding of the art world and key institutions in EMEA.
- Flexibility to travel and work weekends/evenings as required, with a proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
