Consultant Psychiatrist in PICU and Flow Capacity Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Lead for General Adult Psychiatry in PICU and Flow, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership for the assessment and management of general adult inpatients admitted to Hadleigh Unit, PICU. You will also be a lead in providing medical leadership for flow and capacity.
Main Duties
The post holder will be responsible for providing clinical leadership to the teams they work with, participating in care plan and treatment formulation, and providing input into assessment of referrals/admissions. They will also be responsible for maintaining liaison and collaborative working with other services/agencies, and performing RC input to aid Mental Health Act implementation on the ward.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have full GMC registration and be on the Specialist Register, with an appropriate CCT or equivalent or be within six months of obtaining their CCT on the date of the AAC. They will also have a wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to the post within the NHS or comparable service.

Key Responsibilities
The post holder will be responsible for providing clinical leadership for the assessment and management of general adult inpatients admitted to Hadleigh Unit, PICU. They will also be responsible for providing medical leadership for flow and capacity, and for providing clinical expertise into the management of complex cases. Additionally, they will be responsible for participating in care plan and treatment formulation, and providing input into assessment of referrals/admissions.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
Registration with the General Medical Council and on the Specialist Register
Meets Royal College of Psychiatrists criteria for appointment to the post of Consultant
Section 12 Approval and Approved Clinician Status
Desirable qualifications and experience include a qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management, MRCPsych, and postgraduate degree in psychiatry MRC Psych or equivalent. The ideal candidate will also have a wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to the post within the NHS or comparable service.
Working Arrangements
The post holder will be required to work a standard consultant contract, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. They will also be required to participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota, and to work collaboratively with other services/agencies to provide high-quality care and services to our patients.
