Job Description:

The Application Packaging Team at GBA5 EntServ UK Limited is responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery of applications and Operating System gold builds, and the ongoing lifecycle management for those applications.

We are looking for a customer-focused and enthusiastic candidate who has a genuine interest in solving IT issues and is empathetic to our client needs and requirements.

The ideal candidate should have a very good understanding of software application packaging, possess good written and verbal communication skills, and be willing to collaborate with the wider IT support teams.

Responsibilities:

  1. Experience of Application Lifecycle Management in an Enterprise environment as part of a desktop transformation project.
  2. Strong Application Packaging experience using Flexera AdminStudio, InstallShield, IS Recapture & ORCA.
  3. Expert understanding of MSI technology, including transforms.
  4. Document package configuration.
  5. Package defect remediation.
  6. Experience of large OS migration projects (preferably Windows 7 and Windows 10).
  7. Data Analysis and reporting skills.
  8. Good communication skills (customer-facing as you may need to speak to people in the business).
  9. Experience of managing and maintaining a SCCM 2012 (or higher) production environment.
  10. SCCM deployment/Design experience.
  11. Some Operating System Deployment (OSD), including tools such as MDT.
  12. Experience of SCCM / WSUS patching technology.
  13. Microsoft Active Directory 2003-2016 server.
  14. Microsoft Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
  15. Software deployment and 3rd line support and troubleshooting.
  16. Understand and input into desktop engineering standards, processes, and best practices.
  17. Involvement in delivering large-scale deployments of software, e.g., Microsoft Office.
  18. Experience of large OS migration projects (preferably windows 10).
  19. Highlight changes to processes or errors to the process owners. Maintain own process and working instruction documents.
  20. Work within the contractual guidelines and DXC Statement of Work, or highlight any local shadow IT agreements.
  21. Be politically savvy and understand the concerns and priorities of our customer and our own support teams.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  2. At least 3 years of experience in Application Packaging.
  3. Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems.
  4. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  5. Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  6. Familiarity with cloud technologies.
  7. Familiarity with network topology.

Salary:

£60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
