Job Title: Customer Project Lead Engineer – Digital Power Applications

The role requires a proactive approach, demonstrating full ownership and responsibility for implementing and completing projects for our customer. This involves engineering, managing, planning, and resourcing multiple projects for DPAC-UK project teams.

Closely working with fellow Engineers, Project Managers, Engineering and Operations Managers, and the Commercial Team supports additional sales opportunities.

Lead the technical application of integrated customer projects, designing and commissioning Digital Power projects, including project-related H&S documentation, design, and O&M documentation.

Resolve project technical risks, including identifying all interfaces and creating mitigation strategies to build compliant and optimized solutions.

Manage a team of Project Technical Senior Technicians and Engineers to deliver the required solution.

Execute and deliver multiple projects through Schneider Electric Quality Management System and Health and Safety Management System policies and procedures.

Ensure defined project goals, objectives, and performance measures are met or exceeded, and obtain final customer approval of the technical solution designed and delivered.

Take a proactive approach to progressing projects and personal technical ability.

Be prepared to travel and work away from home within the UK or abroad.

Attend site meetings with the customer, contractor, subcontractor, and consultant as necessary.

Represent Digital Power and develop key relationships with the customer/contractors, acting as a Subject Matter Expert in multi-technology architecture solutions.

Financial control of small projects, including procurement, invoice approval, variation handling, final account agreement, and monthly cost-to-complete reviews.

Closely liaise with the commercial team.

Demonstrate related work experience and a strong track record in Project Management practices related to automation control projects.

Strong working knowledge of modern control systems deployed in electrical automation applications, including SCADA, RTUs, PLCs, and Schneider Electric EcoStruxure operating systems and products.

Knowledge of industry-standard protocols, such as Modbus, OPC, IEC61850, DNP3, and related cyber security applications for designing secure communications networks.

Familiarity with MV and LV electrical networks, three-phase power, switchgear, renewable energy solutions, and sources.

Programming and coding skills in SCADA software, including Ecostruxure EPAS and PO SCADA/Citect.

Power Monitoring systems knowledge, preferably EcoStruxure PME – Power Monitoring Expert, and/or experience in industrial communications networks and protocol knowledge.

Develop engineering solutions from concept through to site commissioning and Site Acceptance Testing.

BUILD strong customer relationships and collaborate with the sales team to identify opportunities for contract variations and/or change order management.

Experience using MS Excel, MS Visio, MS Project, and AutoCAD, with knowledge of MS SQL Server, RTU, and PLC programming advantageous.

Ability to work independently without supervision.

Fluency in English (written and verbal) is essential, with another language valuable.

Strong interpersonal skills, working with different cultures.

Hold a full driving license and valid passport.
