Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at NEC Software Solutions. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering mission-critical solutions for the blue light emergency services market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, commission, and upgrade NEC Software Solutions bespoke Communication and CAD products into customer environments.
  • Fault find our product suite at both hardware and software levels.
  • Create, review, and update NEC Engineering documentation, including work plans, work instructions, and technical guides.
  • Work professionally with internal teams to coordinate activities and gather information required to complete tasks.
  • Travel extensively, including overnight stays, to customer sites as demand requires.
  • Interact with customers on a technical and non-technical level, requiring a professional and adaptable approach to communication and interaction.
  • Work in a team and potentially autonomously, with increasing levels of autonomy achieved over time.
  • Follow NEC Software Solutions processes and procedures, complete activities within set deadlines, and report any difficulties to achieve delivery milestones.
  • Present a professional approach and attitude to all work undertaken and promote a clean working environment.

Requirements

  • Ideally educated to HND/HNC level or relevant industry experience in a comparable role.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • A good understanding of Microsoft Active Directory/Domain Architecture.
  • Proven experience administering and working with Microsoft Windows 11, Windows Server up to 2022.
  • Proven experience deploying Microsoft Windows and server operating systems.
  • Proven experience deploying Microsoft Windows Updates (WSUS).
  • Working knowledge of MySQL/MSSQL.
  • Proven knowledge and experience of virtualisation environments (Hyper-V or VMware).
  • MS Business Applications experience, including Excel, Visio, and Word.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proven experience working to ITIL best practices.
