Purchasing Manager Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team at CV Library. As a key member of our procurement team, you will play a crucial role in shaping our procurement strategies and leading a team of skilled Buyers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic procurement plans aligned with our company's growth objectives.
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals with optimal terms, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Conduct market research and analyse trends to forecast changes in the automotive industry.
  • Oversee inventory management and optimize stock levels to support production demands.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement activities with business needs.
  • Implement and maintain procurement systems to enhance efficiency and transparency.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior purchasing role, preferably within the automotive industry, and new emerging technologies.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship-building abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain management and procurement best practices.
  • Proficiency in vendor management software and ERP systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Good Microsoft Office capability, with an emphasis on Excel.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in Purchasing practices, lean manufacturing techniques, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience in all aspects of Purchasing Management within a Tier One Automotive Business, or equivalent.
