Tax Consultant Indirect

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Consultant to join our vibrant UK Tax Function team at Lidl - Head Office. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of indirect tax matters, including excise duty and VAT.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Support the team on indirect tax matters, preparing working papers and analyzing data for tax returns and payments.
2. Interrogate accounting systems and analyze outputs from other departments to ensure compliance.
3. Liaise with internal stakeholders, external advisers, and revenue authorities to resolve tax-related queries.
4. Collaborate on ad hoc consulting projects and provide expert advice on tax matters.
5. Contribute to process control design and testing to ensure seamless tax compliance.

About You:

• You hold ACA/ACCA training or equivalent, or a tax Inspector with full Technical Training course.
• You possess strong bookkeeping and accounting principles knowledge, including journal adjustments and GL reconciliations.
• You are proficient in software skills such as Excel and SAP.
• You have industry experience and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• You can negotiate effectively and handle challenges with confidence.
• You are committed to lifelong learning and personal development.
• You can work independently, managing conflicting priorities with ease and efficiency.
• You possess exceptional organizational abilities and an excellent communicator.
