Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Trainee Systemic Family Practitioner. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to work in a paid full-time training role, developing your skills and expertise in systemic family practice.
Main Duties of the Job
As a Trainee Systemic Family Practitioner, you will be working with children and young people, providing low-intensity interventions for anxiety, depression, and conduct problems. You will also work closely with our experienced team to develop your skills and knowledge in systemic family practice.

Job Responsibilities
The posts are part of the Children and Young People's Psychological Trainings initiative, which aims to increase and upskill the children and young people's mental health workforce. Applicants should have experience of supporting children and young people with their mental health and wellbeing. They should be willing to undertake an intensive training course and be able to demonstrate the aptitude to study at Level 7.
The 1-year full-time training course is provided by Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust in partnership with the University of Manchester. Trainees will study in person for one or two days per week, and the rest of the working week will be based in-service using the skills gained during the training.
Trainee Systemic Family Practitioners are paid on NHS Agenda for Change pay band 5 (or equivalent) and will progress to NHS band 6 (or equivalent) on successful completion of the 12-month training.

Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- Qualification in Clinical/Educational Psychology, Social Work, Psychiatry, Nursing, Occupational Therapy (Core) or Creative Therapies, Counselling, Speech & Language Therapy, CYPWs, EMHPs & Psychotherapy (Non-Core).
Desirable
- Educated to degree level (candidates who do not have a degree will need to evidence their competency by completing an essay).
