Job Description:

This SEN Learning Support Assistant role is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children with special educational needs. As a key member of the school's support team, you will provide individualized support to students, helping them to succeed academically and personally.

Responsibilities:

  • Nurture and support students, building strong relationships and tailoring your approach to meet their unique needs.
  • Assist students in their lessons, ensuring they understand the material and making adjustments as needed.
  • Demonstrate practical strategies to engage and motivate students, providing emotional and behavioral support when required.
  • Support students during lunchtimes, fostering a sense of inclusion and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Experience or interest in SEN: A passion for supporting children with special educational needs is essential.
  • Resilience and adaptability: The ability to handle changes in the daily routine and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills: Effective communication with teachers, parents, and other support staff is crucial.
  • A good standard of English and Mathematics: Required for effective communication and problem-solving.
  • Basic computer skills: Useful for administrative tasks and record-keeping.
  • Previous experience working with challenging behavior: Desirable, but training can be provided.
  • Ongoing professional development: Regular opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
