Project Engineer

Join a leading industrial systems and engineering company in Wolverhampton, where you will play a key role in designing, manufacturing, assembling, and testing industrial systems for the power generation and defence sectors.

As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for representing the commercial project within the production operations of the company. Your primary objective will be to develop and monitor a viable production plan and time schedule, ensuring that all necessary actions are taken to maintain performance to that plan.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Developing and leading the project plan and time schedule.
  2. Monitoring the project against the plan and time schedule.
  3. Providing the Project Manager and Cost Engineer with updated cost forecasts for manufacturing activities on a monthly basis.
  4. Acting as a liaison between the customer, Project Manager, and production facility as required.
  5. Overseeing and coordinating installation activities during project execution.
  6. Coordinating manufacturing operations with procurement and the project as needed during production stages.
  7. Producing project KPIs, such as schedule adherence, EVA, quality, cost, and delivery.
  8. Tracking reports, including MITP and NCR, during project execution.
  9. Facilitating activities to address issues with project budget, design, or design change, profitability, quality, timeliness of delivery, etc.
  10. Acting as a communication hub for the project.
  11. Participating in production planning meetings to optimize the schedule and support overall operation.

The above list is not exhaustive, and the post holder may be required to take on other duties and responsibilities for the effective and efficient performance of this role.

Key requirements include:

  • Ability to produce and read project plans in GANTT chart format.
  • Ability to prepare SWOT and PESTLE for projects and act upon the results.
  • Thorough understanding of financial reporting.
  • Ability to create risk analysis.
  • At least 3 years of significant project experience in a highly regulated business.
  • Graduate level/capability.
