About the Role

Mace is a leading global consultancy that delivers innovative solutions to complex problems. We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design and delivery of high-quality projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the design and delivery of building and engineering projects, ensuring timely completion within budget and statutory requirements.
  • Provide public health engineering design services, including the specification of systems and performance criteria.
  • Undertake design public health engineering elements for new build or repair and refurbishment projects, including domestic hot and cold water services distribution, above and below ground sanitary plumbing, and rainwater disposal.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of other engineers, ensuring effective project management and delivery.
  • Manage the production of drawings and reports, preparing public health specifications and providing technical guidance to junior team members.
  • Model and simulate options appraisals and feasibility studies, contributing to whole life costing.
  • Prepare reports, troubleshoot, and provide advice on new and redevelopment projects.
  • Work with new and emerging technology, integrating with new design concepts for buildings and developing supply chains as necessary.
Requirements
  • Relevant engineering qualifications and experience in the role and project/programme of works.
  • Chartered public health design engineer with proven knowledge of building services consultancy and the full design and construction life cycle within the specific field of public health engineering.
  • Understanding of project deliverables, RIBA stages, health and safety, cost control, value engineering, and site inspections.
  • Digitally savvy, with the ability to build lasting client relationships.
  • Good knowledge of MS Project, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, BIM modeling, PHE software, Revit, and the BREEAM process.
  • Construction or project management projects background, with a hunger to grow your career and take advantage of the opportunities Mace has to offer.
