Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Dental Public Health to join our dedicated team in the North West Public Health Directorate. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in reducing oral and general health inequalities, improving oral health, and enhancing oral healthcare service delivery across the region.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and expert dental public health advice to NHS England - North West.
  • Collaborate with health care public health colleagues to develop and deliver the dental public health offer to the NHS, Local Government, and other health and social care stakeholders.
  • Work with local public health systems, clinical dental services, and other health and care services to improve oral health and reduce health inequalities.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with Local Authorities, Integrated Care Systems, Partnerships, and Boards, as well as Primary Care Networks, Local Professional Networks, dental and general public health colleagues, academic colleagues, and national public health networks.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of an SAC-approved 4-year minimum training programme in Dental Public Health (3 years if in possession of an SAC-approved Masters qualification), or within 6 months of completion, or equivalent.
  • Additional postgraduate qualifications relevant to the role.
  • Full registration with the UK General Dental Council (GDC).
  • On the GDC Specialist List or within 6 months of eligibility for inclusion.
  • Masters Degree in Dental Public Health or equivalent.
  • Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Exit Examination in Dental Public Health or equivalent.
  • Possession of a Certificate of Accreditation or within 6 months of eligibility for a CCST in Dental Public Health.
