About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at our Todhills site in Bishop Auckland. As a key member of our in-house maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and plant.

Your primary focus will be on troubleshooting and performing planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on specialist machinery. You will work closely with our engineers to identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal production efficiency.

This is a dynamic role that requires strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and a hands-on approach. You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of maintenance skills, including fabrication, welding, and service engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting and repair of equipment
  • Conduct planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on specialist machinery
  • Work closely with engineers to identify and resolve technical issues
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure efficient and reliable plant operation

Requirements:

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in an Engineering discipline
  • Experience working in manufacturing/factory environments
  • Strong health and safety knowledge and commitment to safe working practices
  • Ability to work flexibly, including nights and weekends
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
