Commercial Gas Operations Shift Operator: World Energy Co: London

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Gas Operations Shift Operator to join our team in London. As a key member of our Gas Operations Shift Team, you will be responsible for the operational management of Energy Europe & Environmental gas activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with contractual and shipper licence obligations, working in line with regulatory and policy requirements.
- Responsible for the accurate nomination and scheduling of equity supplies, trading hubs, storages, interconnectors, and pipeline transportation.
- Financial and physical optimisation of portfolio.
- Monitor gas markets, gas flow data, and portfolio balances.
- Minimise any imbalances.
- Trading optimise portfolio using asset and market spreads across Europe.
Dimensions:
The role will involve working outside of normal office hours and at weekends and overnight. The Commercial Gas Operations Shift Operator will be a lone worker out of hours and therefore must be comfortable to work sometimes without supervision.
The team comprises eight individuals working a 24/7 shift pattern, 365 days per year. They transport and sell 130 Bcm annually across 13 countries in Europe, with some 2,000 trades scheduled per day across the region, relating to a portfolio of approximately 200 counterparties.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of European gas operations and gas markets.
- Self-starter, able to effectively multi-task.
- Ability and confidence to take ownership of issues, managing to resolution.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Commercially focused individual able to demonstrate delivering additional value through portfolio optimisation.
- Able to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player with high level of communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be flexible, working as part of a rota 24/7 shift team in London offering hybrid working.
This role requires a positive attitude and an ability to work within a large, globally dispersed project team in a multi-cultural environment. You also need to be a self-starter, a logical thinker, and a quick learner, with strong initiative and excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, able to write clearly and concisely.
