Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team as a Technical Authority for the Balance of Plant (eBoP) of our wind, solar, and storage projects. As a key member of our Civil & Electrical Engineering team, you will be responsible for driving optimization of eBoP components and design on project and portfolio levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Support:
    • Provide 2nd/3rd-level support to special wind, solar, and storage projects regarding eBoP, including technical advisory and expert support, root cause analysis, and compliance with regional electrical standards and norms.
    • Support the compliance with regional electrical standards and norms.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Provide technical expertise on main protection components, power quality skills, and control logic.
  • Assessment and Evaluation:
    • Coordinate and manage component prequalification of electrical components, including defining assessment criteria, analyzing supplier input, and providing critical review of performance.
    • Participate in technical due diligence for partnering projects and support cross-regional and framework tenders.
  • Optimization:
    • Identify technical optimization opportunities related to eBoP components, system level, and processes, and initiate and execute assessments and projects.
    • Assess the impact on a RES asset, including LCOE, risks, value, and implementation effort.
    • Mature technical optimization measures and facilitate their business rollout.

Requirements:

  • University degree in a relevant electrical engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • Proven fault-finding and root cause analysis skills.
  • Familiarity with the interrogation of protection relays, event recorders, and power quality monitors.
  • Preferably, asset management experience, including operation strategies and design improvements.
  • Good understanding of commercial implications of engineering decisions and track record in adding business value through applying own technical capability.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to effectively communicate with management and negotiate with external stakeholders.
  • Excellent teamworking ability and integrative skills.
  • Social competence, high level of engagement, and intercultural mindset.
  • High standard of ethical behavior to uphold RWE Renewables' reputation and commitment to core values and code of conduct.
  • Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Fluent English language skills.
