Main DutiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing general and specialist urology care to our patients. This will include performing robotic-assisted pelvic oncology surgery, as well as other urological procedures. The candidate will also be expected to participate in the development of our urology department, including the implementation of new treatments and technologies.

Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will have a strong background in urology, with experience in robotic-assisted surgery and pelvic oncology. The candidate will be expected to have a strong commitment to patient care and to be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements- MB, BS or equivalent qualifications
- Full GMC registration
- Entry on the GMC specialist register in Urology via CCT/ CESR/ European community rights
- General training in Urological Surgery, FRCS(Urol) or equivalent eg FEBU; CCST in Urological Surgery
- OR within six months of achieving CCST at the time of interview
- Excellent leadership, organisational, communication, professional and personal skills to undertake effectively the role of consultant
- Evidence for surgical and clinical skills in Urology to undertake a consultant role
- Good personal and interpersonal skills
- Good spoken and written English
- Communication skills should be highly developed
- Experience of teaching doctors-in-training and Undergraduates
- Experience of clinical audit
- Knowledge of the organisation of the NHS
- Management training and experience
- Computer skills
- Communication skills training
- Collaborate - Communicates openly, honestly and professionally, and actively promotes team working and building strong working relationships
