Job Summary

The Urology department at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic individual to fill the role of Administration Team Leader. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave, providing a comprehensive and confidential secretarial and administrative service to one of our busy Urology Consultant Surgeons.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure the operation of an efficient and effective secretarial service that meets the needs of the department, responsible for the planning of secretarial services to ensure service needs are met and ensuring the development of a cohesive service.
  • Provide secretarial support across the service and to the Consultant Urologists, including responsibility for a specific clinical workload.
  • Liaise with the Medway Corporate Applications team to escalate all clinic build issues, complete change forms, co-ordinate clinic changes, oversee patient reschedules, and communicate changes to all relevant staff in the service.
  • Assist in the induction of new consultants and junior medical staff, co-ordinate initial induction, request IT access, and provide training in DocGen and other systems as required.
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection process for the admin team, liaising with the General Manager and HR on the appointment of staff from vacancy notification to start date.
  • Take responsibility for the induction, training, and ongoing support of new team members.
  • Monitor and maintain records of sickness and annual leave for staff within the admin team.
