Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a Product Safety Evaluation Specialist to join our team, focusing on the assessment and verification of product safety documentation and testing across various categories.

This role is crucial in maintaining our commitment to quality and safety, as you will be involved in developing and managing a comprehensive risk assessment database. Your expertise will help determine the risk levels associated with different product types and suppliers, while conducting thorough product analyses and supplier evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:

In this position, you will:

  • Assist in the creation and upkeep of a risk assessment database to evaluate the risk associated with each product subcategory and supplier, ensuring safety for both the business and consumers.
  • Contribute to the establishment of a structured evaluation process tailored to each product type, factoring in risk and historical performance.
  • Possess a solid understanding of safety regulations pertinent to various product categories, swiftly researching requirements for new categories and integrating them into the evaluation framework.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams and manufacturers to embed evaluation and documentation checks into the purchasing process, enhancing confidence in our supply chain.
  • Monitor safety investigations and product recalls, ensuring prompt actions are taken to eliminate unsafe products from circulation.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in product development, safety standards, and quality management practices.
  • A strong grasp of current and emerging technologies.
  • An understanding of the procurement process to conduct necessary evaluations without delaying market entry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production setting is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with product design methodologies, including lifecycle modeling and cost management, is desirable.
