Job Title: Automation Specialist

Scottish Water is seeking a highly skilled Automation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our water treatment plants and distribution networks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance and repairs on water treatment plants and distribution networks.
  • Install, test, and commission new automation systems and equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with automation systems and equipment.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of automation systems with other plant systems.
Requirements:
  • Full apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • HNC or NC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 17th/18th Edition trained.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
