Healthcare Support Professional

NHS Scotland is committed to delivering high-quality healthcare services, and we are seeking a skilled Senior Healthcare Support Worker to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team in the main theatre department of University Hospital Ayr.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment. They should be committed to providing a high standard of care, supporting nurses and other members of the team, and have a genuine interest in this area of work.
Key responsibilities include carrying out a range of clinical care tasks, working closely with registered nurses, and undertaking in-house training and external training opportunities when available. The successful candidate will be supported in their learning by a mentor and will be expected to demonstrate a range of core skills to competently undertake patient care and other tasks.
A SVQ3 in a healthcare-related subject or equivalent knowledge gained through experience, on-the-job training, and/or short courses is essential. Effective written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team, are also required.
This is a full-time position, and the successful candidate can expect to work 37 hours per week. The estimated salary for this role is £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
