About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infant Mental Health Practitioner to join our team in Plymouth. As a key member of our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality mental health services to infants, children, and families in our community.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in working with infants and young children, with a focus on mental health and wellbeing. You will be responsible for providing consultation, assessment, and therapeutic interventions to support the mental health needs of this age group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver consultation, assessment, and therapeutic interventions to infants and young children, and their families, in a timely and effective manner.
  • Work closely with other CAMHS teams to ensure a seamless service delivery and to meet the needs of children and families.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with families, carers, and other professionals to ensure a collaborative approach to mental health care.
  • Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to support the mental health needs of infants and young children.
Requirements
  • Core qualification in nursing, social work, OT, or psychology with at least 3 years post-registration experience.
  • Postgraduate training in working with infants, young children, and families in mental health.
  • Practice supervisor and assessor training to support student nurses.
  • Experience of working within children's mental health services, with a focus on infant and young child mental health.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with families, carers, and other professionals.
