About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Junior Sous Chef to join our team at Sofitel London Gatwick. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day management, preparation, and service of all food within the hotel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the smooth running of the kitchen operation, maintaining the highest standards of quality and service.
  • Assist with the management of efficient stock control and procedures, minimizing food wastage and ensuring strict food hygiene controls are upheld.
  • Conduct daily briefings and other meetings as needed to obtain optimal results, supporting and training the kitchen team.
  • Monitor and compare local competitors' food operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
Requirements
  • Strong motivational and training abilities, with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Resilience and a proactive approach to problem-solving, with a positive and approachable manner.
  • Experience in a similar role within a 5-star hotel is a significant advantage.
