VGC Group is seeking skilled Steel Fixers for a significant project in the West Midlands. This role offers the opportunity for a long-term contract, providing stability and growth within the construction sector.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Interpreting construction blueprints and specifications to ascertain the necessary type, quantity, and arrangement of rebar.
  • Utilizing cutting and bending tools to cut, bend, and shape steel bars and mesh.
  • Assembling rebar cages and mats according to project specifications.
  • Positioning and securing rebar within concrete forms using appropriate methods.
  • Employing spacers and chairs to ensure accurate positioning and spacing of rebar.
  • Tying rebar together to create a robust reinforcement structure.
  • Conducting inspections of rebar installations to verify compliance with specifications and codes.
  • Identifying and rectifying any discrepancies in the reinforcement layout.
  • Adhering to safety protocols and utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
