We are seeking a Computational Science Impact Coordinator to join our team at the University of Cambridge. This exciting opportunity will focus on improving our understanding and mitigating the environmental impacts of scientific computing.

In this role, you will lead projects to improve how computing environmental impacts are estimated and reported, as well as investigate the impact of growing scientific fields through targeted case studies.

Your key responsibilities will include exploring ways to better integrate life-cycle analyses in these estimations, expanding environmental impacts beyond carbon footprints, and quantifying the estimates' uncertainty.

This research will be a key component of making computing more sustainable by drastically improving the reporting of computing impacts and shedding light on the carbon footprint of specific fields.

The preferred candidate will have an MSc or PhD (or equivalent experience) in computer science, applied informatics, sustainability, or other related subject, with a strong interest in the intersection between computing, science, and environmental sustainability.

The salary for this position is approximately £**35,000-40,000 per annum**, depending on experience and qualifications.
