Job Description

As a Senior Design Engineer - Avionics, you will utilize your expertise in electrical/avionics design to propose changes to aircraft electrical/avionic systems and brand new components. You will work with novel technologies and a specialized fleet of aircraft to complete complex data-gathering missions effectively and safely.

About the Role:

  1. Design circuit layouts and diagrams, electrical assemblies, systems, and harnesses, and compile associated documentation for the design of changes to aircraft electrical/avionic systems and new components/systems.
  2. Provide engineering guidance to other departments, help train new engineers, and stay up-to-date with industry trends and issues.
  3. Conduct engineering investigations and prepare reports for leadership.
  4. Collaborate with customers and suppliers to integrate marketing, sales, and project management.

About You:

  1. Degree or equivalent experience in electrical engineering or a related field.
  2. Clear understanding of aircraft avionic/electrical component and/or system design requirements, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  3. Proficient in CATIA, Solidworks, or AutoCAD.
  4. Able to produce calculations in support of the design activity.
  5. Working knowledge of regulatory requirements, e.g., EASA, JAA, FAA, is desirable.

This is a permanent position that requires a determined Senior Design Engineer who wants to exercise their knowledge and experience further in the avionics industry. Due to the nature of work undertaken at our client's site, incumbents of these positions are required to meet special rules and therefore these vacancies are only open to British applicants. Applicants who meet this criteria will also be required to undergo security clearance vetting, if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.
