About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Theatre Practitioner to join our team at Benenden Hospital. As a key member of our perioperative care team, you will be responsible for planning and implementing high standards of care, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of surgical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and prepare theatre lists, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing delays.
  • Enter patient information accurately and efficiently into our IT systems, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection policies.
  • Ensure patient care areas are safe, clean, and well-maintained, adhering to hospital protocols and guidelines.
  • Maintain the safe custody of medications and controlled drugs, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • First-level Registered Nurse/HCPC registered ODP with a strong background in perioperative care.
  • Post-registration education in a relevant specialty, degree in healthcare, or equivalent experience.
  • Expert scrub nurse with post-qualification experience in a range of surgical specialties.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and support team working in a positive and challenging culture.
  • Strong patient-centered approach, with a focus on delivering high-quality care and improving patient outcomes.
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Outlook and web-based reporting systems.
