Senior Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineer

Hours of work: 35 hours a week, working Monday to Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm

Join our team of experienced engineers at Imerys Aluminates, a leading manufacturer of mineral-based speciality solutions.

You will be responsible for managing, maintaining and improving electrical and automation equipment and systems for our industrial/production site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute electrical, automation and instrumentation work, including inspection, auditing, calibration, spare parts, drawings, risk assessments and reactive & preventive maintenance.
  • Operate, manage and maintain Siemens automation systems (PLCs/ PCS7/ SCADA/ WinCC/ S7-300/ HMIs) including fault finding, programming and updating.
  • Manage ECI compliance and statutory activities (Fixed wire testing, HV maintenance, Earthing test, PAT, Arc flash testing, etc.).
  • Work on and manage high voltage (HV) network and drives.
  • Manage ECI projects (including designs, specifications, documentation, contract management, installation, commissioning, spare parts and training).
  • Participate in training, development and appointment of other industrial engineers.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical, control and instrumentation systems, such as valves, sensors, probes, and control circuits.
  • Proven experience of fault finding, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Degree in Electrical /Electronic/Control/ Automation Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Experience of programming, editing and fault finding on Siemens systems (PCS7), SCADA systems (WinCC) and communication network.
  • Strong understanding and experience of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and process systems.
  • Ability to use Auto CAD and Trimble.
  • Health and Safety NEBOSH or IOSH Certification.
