Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Technical Manager to join our team at Brakes Food Shop. As a key member of our Merchandising team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of product quality, safety, and legality for a defined portfolio of suppliers and products.

Your primary focus will be on providing technical support to our procurement and category team, ensuring that our suppliers meet the highest standards of quality and safety. You will also be responsible for conducting site audits, setting technical expectations, and providing guidance and support to our suppliers.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will have excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to the procurement and category team
  • Conduct site audits and set technical expectations for suppliers
  • Provide guidance and support to suppliers
  • Maintain the approved supplier database
  • Generate and approve own brand artwork
  • Instigate product risk management action plans
  • Monitor and analyze complaint trends
  • Deliver innovative technical solutions to add value to the business

About You:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Technical Manager with a strong background in food science or technology. You will have excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
