Technical Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Manager to join our team. As a Technical Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of product quality, safety, legality, and integrity for a defined portfolio of suppliers and products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the procurement and category team on supplier selection, product quality attributes, and control parameters.
  • Manage supplier relationships, conducting site audits, setting technical expectations, and providing guidance and support.
  • Maintain the approved supplier database, complete due diligence audits, and ensure non-conformances are effectively closed out.
  • Generate and approve own brand artwork.
  • Develop and implement product risk management action plans and escalate emerging issues to mitigate business and customer impact.
  • Monitor and analyze complaint trends, working with suppliers to support annual KPIs.
  • Implement a robust quality assessment program for product ranges.
  • Deliver innovative technical solutions that add value to the business in areas such as cost reduction and improved quality without cost increase.
Requirements:
  • Technical background with a full understanding of food science and technology.
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Desirable: Lead assessor qualification and supplier and product management experience.
