As a SCPHN School Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to children and young people in schools, promoting their health and wellbeing, and working closely with teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist nursing care to children and young people in schools, including health assessments, health education, and health promotion.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for children and young people.
  • Conduct health assessments and provide health education to children and young people, including those with special educational needs.
  • Develop and implement health promotion programs for children and young people, including those related to mental health, physical activity, and healthy eating.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to children and young people, including those with complex health needs.

Requirements:

  • Registered SCPHN School Nurse with a valid NMC registration.
  • Experience of working with children and young people in a school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of child development and health promotion principles.
