We are seeking a dedicated and experienced social worker to join our team at Service Care Solutions on the Isle of Wight. As a Child Protection Specialist, you will be working within our Child Protection team, helping to safeguard vulnerable children and young people on the island.

Our ideal candidate will have a recognised qualification in social work and be registered with Social Work England. You will have a solid understanding of safeguarding and risk assessment processes, as well as experience in case management, multi-agency working, and court procedures.

The estimated salary for this role is £30,000 - £40,000 per annum, which includes up to £250 weekly accommodation reimbursement and reimbursement for one return car ferry per week.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Case Management: Managing a caseload of children and families, ensuring that all statutory responsibilities are met, and that children's safety and welfare are prioritised.
  2. Risk Assessment: Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify risks and developing care plans to address the needs of children and families.
  3. Multi-Agency Working: Collaborating with professionals from health, education, and other agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to safeguarding.
  4. Court Work: Preparing reports and presenting evidence in court, as needed, to ensure the best outcomes for children.
  5. Family Support: Engaging with families, building trust, and working with them to ensure the safety and well-being of their children.
Requirements:
  1. A recognised qualification in social work (Dip.SW, CSS, CQSW or equivalent).
  2. Social Work England registration.
  3. A solid understanding of safeguarding and risk assessment processes.
  4. Access to your own vehicle and availability to work on the Isle of Wight for five days per week.
