Senior Mechanical Engineer

Gap Technical Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Wrexham. As a key member of the Engineering Team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality results and contributing to the success of the company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to achieve departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Provide technical support to the Engineering Team during busy periods.
  • Review daily planned activity with the Engineering Team Manager to optimize labour utilization and machine downtime opportunities.
  • Lead machine condition/performance reviews, identify areas for improvement, and ensure team members take ownership of assigned actions.
  • Provide technical support for machine breakdowns and changeovers.
  • Conduct continuous machine observation and measurement to identify potential failures or deterioration in output, waste, or quality performance.
  • Determine the cause of potential failures or performance deterioration and complete remedial work, briefing the Engineering Team on the issue, cause, and recommended solution.
Requirements:
  • ONC / HNC / C&G Level 3 or equivalent Engineering qualification.
  • Flexible and self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Experience in condition monitoring disciplines - thermal imaging, vibration monitoring, and oil analysis.
  • SAP PM Experience or other CMMS system.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced / FMCG environment is desirable but not essential.
