The University of Cambridge is seeking a talented PhD student to join its Department of Pathology and work on a groundbreaking project in AI-assisted genome replication research. As a PhD student, you will have the opportunity to develop innovative AI software that can leverage the power of long-read DNA sequencing to determine the genomic loci of DNA damage caused by antimalarial drugs.

You will work closely with experienced researchers to design, implement, and evaluate the AI software, and contribute to high-impact publications in the field. The studentship is fully funded by the University, covering stipend at the current Research Council rate and University Fees.

To be eligible, applicants should hold (or expect to obtain) the equivalent of a UK 2.1 or higher in an undergraduate honours or Masters degree in a relevant subject. Relevant skills include programming languages such as Python and R, as well as experience with machine learning algorithms and data analysis tools.

Estimated salary: £22,000 - £26,000 per annum.
