We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Senior Nurse to join our team at HMP Bristol, as part of the South West Prison Healthcare contract awarded to Oxleas NHS trust in 2022.
As a Senior Nurse, you will provide high-quality primary care services and a range of specialist interventions for offenders. Our healthcare team has a real impact on promoting health and well-being to those in prison, using skills and strategies that instill hope for patients' future resettlement back into the community.

Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering primary care, emergency response, and first night in custody/new registration services.
- Maintaining an effective case management service to ensure care and continuity of treatment throughout a patient care pathway while detained in prison.
- Ensuring all clinics and consultations are delivered in a clinically effective and timely manner.
- Implementing strategies designed to promote and improve health and prevent disease while in prison.
- Coordinating the Healthcare Team, supporting junior colleagues, and ensuring systems are in place for clinical supervision.
- Delivering high-quality clinical care within the Integrated Healthcare Service for the prison, including acute & primary care, long-term conditions management, enhanced assessment and diagnostic intervention services, and health promotion activities.
- Participating in managerial and professional clinical supervision programs to ensure junior staff receive appropriate supervision, training, and annual appraisal.
Requirements:
- Non-UK passport holders will need to have correct documentation (right to work in the UK) and a Home Office Share code.
- Police Certificate in English for non-UK passport holders with less than 5 years UK address history.
- Certificate of good conduct or an overseas police check in English for UK passport holders who have lived abroad for more than six months during the last three years.
