Freelance Epidemiology Lead - Europe

Barrington James is seeking a highly skilled Freelance Epidemiology Lead to join our team on a 6/12 month basis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing ongoing RWE studies in every country/region worldwide except the US and Canada.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a multinational business that is committed to innovation and defeating serious chronic diseases. As a Freelance Epidemiology Lead, you will work closely with country and regional business leaders to support the adoption of data-driven strategies that enhance market access, product positioning, and overall business performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement RWE studies to support business decisions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate RWE insights into business strategies
  • Provide expert epidemiology and outcomes research support to business leaders
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest RWE methodologies and tools
Requirements:
  • Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, or MPH) in Epidemiology, Public Health, Health Economics, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in epidemiology, outcomes research, or real-world evidence generation within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
  • Proven track record of translating scientific research into actionable business strategies
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare systems, regulatory requirements, and market access processes across multiple geographies
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to distill complex scientific concepts into business-relevant insights
Desirable Skills:
  • Exposure to chronic diseases (Ideal but not mandatory)
  • HEOR modelling is a plus
