Role Description

Befriender 'Out and About' Volunteer

Location: Maidstone

Time Commitment: Flexible

As a Befriender 'Out and About' Volunteer with SeeAbility, you will play a vital role in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities and autism who may also have sight loss. Your reliable companionship will enable them to participate in activities they enjoy, such as going for walks, attending concerts, visiting the cinema, going shopping, or socializing at nightclubs and pubs.

Key Skills and Qualities

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Punctuality and reliability
  • Kindness, empathy, and friendliness
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Assistance with sighted guide/orientation when needed
