This is an exciting opportunity to join the Francis Crick Institute as a Senior Laboratory Research Scientist. The successful candidate will be part of the Cancer Dynamics research group, working closely with the Experimental Histopathology Science Technology Platform (STP).

About the Role

">

The primary responsibility of the role is to support spatial multiomic pipelines within the MANIFEST Histology platform. This includes optimizing and performing automated Immunohistochemistry (IHC), multiplex Immunofluorescence (mIF), and RNAScope on tissue sections derived from formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) human cancer tissue blocks.

The post holder will also be involved in the development of new technologies relating to spatial transcriptomics and integrated proteomics. They will collaborate with leading technical platforms, such as Leica Bond RX, Akoya, and 10X Genomics, and have access to expertise across the broader consortium.

Main Responsibilities

  • Supporting spatial multiomic pipelines within the MANIFEST Histology platform
  • Developing new technologies relating to spatial transcriptomics and integrated proteomics
  • Collaborating with technical platforms and experts within the consortium
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies
  • Providing advice, training, and expertise to team members

Requirements

Salary and Benefits

">

The salary range for this position is £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience. The institute offers a comprehensive benefits package, including pension scheme, annual leave, and professional development opportunities.
