About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a welcoming school in Stanley. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of abilities and SEMH needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to students in KS3 and KS4, working closely with Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) to ensure individualized support.
  • Engage with students in classroom, 1:1, and small group settings to promote their learning and development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to enhance learning plans and provide a positive learning environment.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities to contribute to students' development both inside and outside the classroom.
Requirements
  • Excellent behaviour management skills, with experience in managing behaviour in 1:1 and group environments.
  • A child-only DBS on the update service or a willingness to apply for one.
  • Two professional references from recent employment.
  • Desirable but not essential: previous experience supporting young people with additional learning needs or SEN.
