Support Role for Students with SEMH Needs
We are partnering with a Secondary school in Stanley (DH9) to find a dedicated individual to support students aged 11-16 with SEMH/SEN needs.
About the School:
The school is dedicated to helping students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to overcome their challenges and reach their full potential.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide support under the supervision of teaching staff to help pupils access the curriculum and participate fully in school activities.
- Assist in planning and evaluating learning activities, offering feedback to the teacher on pupil progress.
- Support the teacher with behaviour management, keeping students on task and maintaining classroom discipline.
- Provide tailored support for students with challenging behaviour, following individual support plans and risk assessments.
Requirements:
- Enhanced child and adult DBS registered with the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Patient, reliable, and confident in supporting children and young people.
- Experience working with SEN or disabilities is essential.
- Previous experience as a Care/Support Worker is desirable.
