About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Group Leader/Senior Group Leader to join our Structural Biology, Biophysics and Protein Science management team. As a key member of our team, you will provide strong scientific, operational and strategic leadership to multiple teams at our Harlow and Chesterford Research Park sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project feasibility scoping and deliver high-quality scientific proposals for challenging targets across the department's main discipline areas.
  • Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting to team members in one or more disciplines of Structural Biology, Protein Science and Biophysics.
  • Line manage up to 8 direct reports and ensure their performance, development and training align with company directions and policies.
  • Contribute to the management and performance of the Protein Science, Biophysics and Structural Biology team by taking on selected responsibilities.
  • Lead scientific projects and project teams to maintain client satisfaction and deliver on project objectives and financials.
Requirements
  • A minimum BSc in a related discipline, with a PhD (or equivalent experience) in a field of relevance to structural biology and protein sciences.
  • Crystallisation expertise in an industrial or core facility group within a structural biology drug discovery environment is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of impacting upon projects and experience as discipline lead in an integrated drug discovery project.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, with a dynamic and flexible approach towards achieving client-based objectives.
