About the Role

We are seeking a Casual Health Information Processing Clerk at Interior Health Authority in Cranbrook, BC.

Job Summary

This is a casual position that involves performing clerical duties related to the preparation, maintenance, and storage of patient information in paper and electronic form. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to Managers and Physicians, perform quantitative analysis, and maintain electronic tracking systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct quantitative analysis to ensure accuracy of patient records
  • Monitor and maintain an electronic tracking system for deficient patient charts
  • Perform data entry functions for clinical registries and/or databases
  • Assist physicians in completing patient documentation by performing quantitative analysis
  • Provide reception duties, including answering telephone calls, transferring calls, taking messages, and answering routine inquiries
Requirements
  • A current 5 Minute Typing Test with a speed of 55 wpm or greater, completed within the past 48 months from a recognized institution
  • Proof of completion of a Medical Terminology Course
  • A Resume indicating two years of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • A Cover Letter stating availability to start in a new position and on-call, casual work
