We are seeking a Casual Health Information Processing Clerk to join our team at East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook, BC.
Key Responsibilities- Perform clerical duties related to patient information, including preparation, maintenance, and storage of paper and electronic records.
- Provide secretarial support to Managers and Physicians, including typing technical and non-technical material.
- Conduct quantitative analysis to ensure accuracy of patient records and monitor electronic tracking systems.
- Retrieve, organize, and file patient records, reports, and other documents.
- Answer inquiries regarding patient information and perform data entry functions for clinical registries and databases.
- Assist physicians in completing patient documentation and provide reception duties, including answering phone calls and directing visitors.
- A current 5 Minute Typing Test with a speed of 55 wpm or greater, completed within the past 48 months from a recognized institution.
- Proof of completion of a Medical Terminology Course.
- Two years of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- A Cover Letter stating availability to start in a new position and on-call, casual work.
