About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Enforcement Technician to join our Planning Service team at the Forest of Dean District Council. As an Enforcement Technician, you will play a crucial role in investigating and resolving breaches of planning control, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and providing excellent customer service to our stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and resolve breaches of planning control, including identifying and addressing non-compliance with planning regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including customers, colleagues, and external agencies, to resolve issues and provide practical solutions.
  • Provide administrative support, including maintaining accurate records and preparing reports, to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services.
  • Work independently, prioritizing workload and managing multiple tasks to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of planning regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and effective enforcement.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 qualifications equivalent to NVQ level 2 or GCSE at Grade C/4 or above, including Maths and English.
  • Experience of dealing with the general public in a customer-facing role, with excellent customer care skills and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work with attention to detail, producing accurate and well-presented work, and to organize and prioritize workload independently.
  • Driving license and access to travel, with ability to work in a variety of environments, including office and field settings.
