Job Title: School Site Supervisor

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Site Supervisor to join our team at Trafford. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of our school buildings and grounds.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Facilities Management: Develop and implement a comprehensive facilities management plan to ensure the school's buildings and grounds are well-maintained and compliant with health and safety regulations.
  • Security and Access Control: Secure the premises and contents, including operating fire and burglar alarms, CCTV, and key holder responsibilities.
  • Inspections and Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of the premises, including heating, lighting, and alarm systems, to ensure they are in good working order and compliant.
  • Contractor Management: Supervise and monitor all external contractors to ensure they are performing their duties to a high standard.
  • Professional Development: Undertake professional development and training, as appropriate, to stay up-to-date with industry best practices and regulations.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations, such as floods, and undertake immediate cleaning and maintenance as required.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Complete general maintenance and repairs in plumbing, joinery, glazing, and decorating projects as required.
  • Liaison and Communication: Liaise with outside agencies to ensure the school's buildings, grounds, and premises are well-maintained and compliant with regulations.
  • Health and Safety: Monitor and maintain a safe working environment, including monitoring energy usage and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete all paperwork associated with duties, including time-sheets, ordering stock, completion certificates, Health and Safety and Fire Audits, Fire Drill records, Risk Assessments, etc.
  • Key Holding and Security: Perform key holding duties, including opening and closing the premises and ensuring security and fire alarms are functioning correctly, with 24-hour call-out for emergencies.

Requirements:

  • Experience in Facilities Management: Proven experience in facilities management, with a strong understanding of health and safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Qualifications and Certifications: Relevant qualifications and certifications, such as a Level 3 Diploma in Facilities Management or a similar qualification.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, students, and external contractors.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances, including emergency situations.
