The successful candidate will be instrumental in empowering students to develop their English language skills and flourish within an International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum.

Job Summary

This is a full-time permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of students from over 40 nationalities. As an English Language Acquisition Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and delivering the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and IB Diploma Programme (DP) English Language Acquisition curriculum to students in Grades 6 to 12.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a school-based English Language Development (ELD) program for students in Grades 6 to 8.
  • Prepare and mark a wide range of assessments following MYP and DP protocols.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and styles of students including those for whom English may not be their first language.
  • Teach and promote English language and culture using a range of student-centered teaching strategies, resources, and technology.
  • Embed IB approaches to learning in the curriculum delivery.
  • Collaborate with the Chair of English and other faculty members to establish interdisciplinary links.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of the latest language teaching advancements.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent).
  • International Baccalaureate curriculum experience.
  • Fluency in both verbal and written English.

Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum.
