Job Title: Governance Clerk

We are seeking a skilled Governance Clerk to provide administrative and organisational support to our governing board. The successful candidate will contribute towards the efficient and effective functioning of our governing board and its committees.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide administrative and organisational support to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks.
  2. Understand the potential consequences of non-compliance and provide advice on procedural matters.
  3. Work closely with the governing board to ensure the smooth operation of the board.

The successful candidate will have good interpersonal and organisational skills, be a strong communicator, and be able to work as part of a successful team. Meetings are held on Monday evenings at 6pm and last an average of 2 1/2 hours, with around 10 meetings a year. It is essential that these are attended.

We offer extensive training, advice, and guidance through the West Sussex County Council, so good knowledge of the board's statutory requirements and responsibilities is necessary for the role. However, this training can be done within the role if required.
