Patient Support Officer

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Assistant Patient Support Officer to work as part of our friendly team which provides a diagnostic Cardiology and Respiratory service to both in-patients and out-patients. The post involves administrative and reception duties, including dealing with patient and staff queries, managing clinics on the Trust IT systems and making and amending appointments.
The successful candidate will work as part of a team in a busy Cardio-Respiratory Department. As a department, we pride ourselves on the quality of diagnostic services we provide for patients. You should have experience of reception and administrative work. Have good communication skills and be able to use your own initiative. Enjoy working with people and as part of a team.
Our hospitals provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
Job Requirements- A flexible approach to work and adaptable to change
- A good standard of education - minimum of 3 GCSE's (or equivalent) at Grade C or above including English Language
- NVQ Level in Business Administration or equivalent demonstrable knowledge or experience.
This position offers a salary between £20,000 and £25,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include opportunities for professional development and support for learning and development.
