We are seeking a highly skilled Litigation and Compliance Specialist to join our Contentious Legal Reporting & Governance team at Barclays Bank UK PLC. This role will be focused on supporting the delivery of multiple firm-wide reporting requirements relating to contentious matters managed by Barclays Legal, including Barclays' public disclosures.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement best practice legal strategies for managing litigation, investigations, and enforcement proceedings, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Provide legal advice and support to the bank on contentious legal matters, including representation in legal proceedings such as litigation, arbitration, and regulatory investigations.
- Collate and report management information, utilizing project management skills to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
- Work closely with the bank's legal team to create and review legal documents relevant to cases, processes, policies, and procedures designed to reduce legal and regulatory risk.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to stay up-to-date on changes in laws, rules, and regulations impacting the bank's litigation, investigations, and enforcement activities.
- Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on legal and regulatory requirements related to litigation, investigations, and enforcement proceedings.
- Proactively identify, communicate, and provide legal advice on applicable laws, rules, and regulations, ensuring effective allocation and reflection within relevant policies, standards, and controls.
- Paralegal, Legal Executive, or similar background with experience in collating and reporting management information.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to flex style to meet stakeholder requirements.
- Strong analytical skills and high level of attention to detail, with a track record of successfully working both independently and as part of a team.
