About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Seasonal Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our team at Bath and North East Somerset Council. As a key member of our Environmental Services team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the beauty and cleanliness of our parks, open spaces, and green areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the team leader with the day-to-day running and development of the team, ensuring maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Perform a range of tasks, including planting, pruning, seeding, hedge trimming, grass cutting, strimming, leaf blowing, and raking.
  • Set out and mark sports areas, upkeep pitches, and propagate and nursery care of plants.
  • Site preparation, manual litter picking, and sweeping.
  • Emptying litter and recycling bins, and replacing liners.
  • Using electronic mobile devices to record work and log any issues.
  • Resolving any complaints as directed by managers.
