About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radioactive Waste Management Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Radioactive Waste Management and Disposal Business Unit, you will be responsible for deploying desk-based, analytical, and experimental capabilities to assess, rationalise, and document solutions for a variety of scientific or engineering problems in the field of nuclear waste management and disposal.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the production of high-quality technical reports and provide supervision to other resources, including reviewing and assimilating data/information and technical reports produced by other members of the team.
  2. Enable successful interactions with customers, including presentation of key results and their interpretation in the context of client's needs, by managing supply chain partners and leveraging research networks and contacts to form new partnerships for research.
  3. Support business development (including competitive bidding) in relevant technical areas to secure new contracts and subsequently support project management and project control activities to ensure work is delivered to agreed timescales, quality, and cost.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline, such as Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Materials Science, Geology, Environmental Sciences, or any relevant Engineering topics. The ideal candidate will have outstanding experimental, modelling, or desk-based analytical skills with a focus on nuclear topics, as well as excellent technical writing skills demonstrated by publication of technical work in industry reports and/or scientific literature.
